Corey's Housewarming Dinner

We met Corey in the fall of 2015 after he was referred to us by a friend. We helped him in his search for the perfect new home. He closed on his two family rowhouse this year. On July 8, 2017, we celebrated Corey's housewarming in his new home with a few of his family and our team. We enjoyed some amazing food and even better company. Scroll down to see the menu, table setting, and food from the wonderful night we had!

The menu for Corey's Housewarming Dinner was carefully crafted to reflect the history of Corey’s new neighborhood.  Sunnyside, Queens was named for the Sunnyside Hill estate that belonged to the French Huguenots who originally settled the area in the early 18th century. Isaac prepared Potato Dauphinoise and Sole Meuniere to reflect the French origins of the area. Sunnyside consisted mainly of farmlands and marshes until it was incorporated within Long Island City at the end of the 19th century. Ratatouille, often considered a peasant's dish, was served to honor the farmers of Sunnyside’s past.  The completion of the Queensboro Bridge in the early 20th century ushered in a wave of Irish blue-collar workers who commuted to the city over the new bridge.  Just as many workers probably celebrated the end of a hard day of work with a favorite dessert from back home, Corey and his friends enjoyed an Irish Apple Cake to celebrate their new home.
