Isaac's Sweet & Sassy BBQ Sauce
In the book "Master LÙ's Spring and Autumn Annals" published in 239 BCE, Chinese Chef I Yin discussed the importance of harmoniously blending sweet, sour, bitter, pungent, and salty. Isaac’s Sweet and Sassy BBQ sauce perfectly does just that. We highly recommend using this recipe at your next barbecue served with all sorts of meats and vegetables, or as Isaac served it: on a sandwich with pulled pork that had been cooked sous vide for 75 hours.

Isaac's Sweet & Sassy BBQ Sauce
Total Time:1 Hour 10 Minutes | Active Time: 10 Minutes | Serves Eight
Ingredients:
- 2 C of ketchup
- 1/2 C of light brown sugar
- 1/4 C of dark molasses
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 t onion powder
- 2 t dry mustard
- 3 T lemon juice
- 3 T Worcester sauce
- 1/2 C Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3 T light corn syrup
- 1/4 t cayenne pepper
Directions:
- Add all of the ingredients to a pot. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 hour, until the ingredients have reduced by half.
- Cool. Serve as desired.
